A Lifelong Connection to the Floral Business
Flowers have been part of our owner’s life for as long as he can remember. He grew up in the floral business, surrounded by family members who owned several flower shops in the Pittsburgh area. From an early age, he learned that a good flower shop is about much more than arranging stems in a vase. It is about understanding why someone walked through the door, what they are trying to say, and how flowers can help them say it beautifully.

After college, he spent about 10 years working in retail, but the floral business never really left him. He missed the creativity, the relationships, and the personal nature of helping customers mark the moments that matter most. When the opportunity came to purchase Klein’s Flower Shop in 1997, it felt like a return to something that had always been part of who he was.
That decision brought together a family background in flowers, years of customer service experience, and a genuine love of floral design. Since then, we have worked to honor the long history of Klein’s while continuing to make the shop feel personal, welcoming, and responsive to the people we serve.
More Than a Century of Flowers and Community
Klein’s Flower Shop has been serving customers since 1888, giving our business a history that stretches back well over a century. That kind of longevity means generations of people have turned to this shop for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, memorials, celebrations, and simple gestures of kindness.

We are proud of that history, but we also know a long-standing name only matters if the service behind it continues to earn people’s trust. Our goal is to carry the tradition forward by listening carefully, using fresh flowers, and creating arrangements that feel appropriate for the person and occasion rather than simply pulling together something generic.
Every customer comes in with a different reason for needing flowers. Some know exactly what they want, while others need help deciding what would be most meaningful. We welcome both kinds of conversations, because helping people choose the right design is one of the most important parts of what we do.
Floral Design Built Around What You Have in Mind
We believe floral design should start with listening. A customer may come in with a favorite color, a particular flower, a budget, an event theme, or just a general feeling they want the arrangement to convey. Our job is to take those details and turn them into something that feels thoughtful and appropriate.
That personalized approach is especially important because flowers are often tied to emotion. A wedding arrangement should feel joyful and personal, while a sympathy piece needs to communicate care and respect. Even something as simple as a single rose can carry meaning, and we never want to lose sight of that just because the order may be small.
We have been designing flowers since 1981, and that experience has taught us that the best results come from balancing creativity with the customer’s vision. We are happy to offer suggestions, but we also make sure the finished design reflects the person who ordered it and the moment it was created for.
Fresh Flowers Make a Difference
One of the promises we make to our customers is to use the freshest flowers possible in our designs. We receive fresh-cut flower deliveries almost every day, which gives us the opportunity to work with quality blooms and create arrangements that look vibrant and cared for.

Freshness matters because flowers are meant to make an impression from the moment they are received. Whether they’re going to a wedding, a memorial service, a hospital room, a birthday celebration, or someone’s kitchen table, we want the arrangement to arrive looking beautiful and thoughtfully prepared.
Working with frequent fresh deliveries also gives us flexibility when designing for different occasions. Selection can vary depending on season and availability, but we use our experience to help customers choose flowers that work well together and create the look or feeling they want.
Honesty and Integrity Guide the Way We Work
When we describe our work ethic, honesty and integrity are the two words that matter most. We want customers to feel comfortable asking questions, discussing budgets, and trusting us to recommend floral options that make sense for their needs.

That means we do not believe in making the process more complicated than it needs to be. If you know what you want, we can help bring it together. If you are unsure, we can walk you through the choices and explain what may work best based on the occasion, style, and flowers available.
Trust is especially important in a business like ours because customers often come to us during emotional or once-in-a-lifetime moments. We take that responsibility seriously and work to make every interaction feel thoughtful, respectful, and straightforward.
Experience That Comes From Decades of Designing
Our owner has been designing flowers since 1981, bringing more than four decades of hands-on floral experience to the work we do today. That long history has created a strong understanding of design, customer service, and the small details that can make an arrangement feel finished and intentional.

Experience also helps when customers are not exactly sure what they want. Sometimes the most important part of the process is knowing what questions to ask, which flowers complement one another, and how to adapt an idea based on the season or the specific needs of an event.
We combine that experience with a willingness to keep listening. Trends change, tastes evolve, and every customer brings something different to the table, so we never assume that one style will work for everyone.
A Flower Shop for Every Kind of Customer
One of the things we love about this business is the range of people we get to serve. Someone may walk in looking for one beautiful rose, while the next customer is planning a wedding or selecting flowers for a loved one’s memorial service.

We do not believe any order is too simple to deserve care. A single flower can carry just as much meaning as a large arrangement depending on the moment, and we treat each request with that in mind.
Our goal is to be the kind of flower shop people feel comfortable turning to whether they have ordered flowers dozens of times or have never purchased an arrangement before. Good service should make the experience easier, not more intimidating.
Weddings, Sympathy Flowers, and Everyday Occasions
We work with customers for nearly every kind of occasion. Some visits are celebratory, such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, and other milestones. Others come during more difficult times, when families need sympathy flowers that express support and remembrance.

We understand that each situation requires a different tone and a different level of guidance. Wedding flowers may involve colors, styles, and multiple arrangements that need to work together, while sympathy designs require sensitivity and an understanding of what the family wants to communicate.
We also enjoy helping with the quieter occasions that do not come with a formal invitation. Sometimes someone simply wants to say thank you, congratulations, I’m thinking about you, or I love you. Those orders can be just as meaningful, and we give them the same level of attention.
